Marble? Limestone? Wood? No, Swedish artist Christian Andersson (@christian_andersson_swe) created these classical columns from paper. The print on the paper suggests a three-dimensional object that needs really close inspection to reveal the flatness of it. To take away the last illusion of an actual marble column, the ends of the paper banners lie shredded on the floor. An immensely convincing trompe l’oeil.
The work is accompanied in this room by a painting by Alex Katz a paper object by Jan Schoonhoven and a geometrical screenprint on board by François Morellet.
