Claude Monet in the Kunstmuseum Den Haag

The work “Les Roses” (1925-1926) by Claude Monet in the Monet exhibition in the Kunstmuseum Den Haag (@kunstmuseum.nl). The painting is on loan from the Musée Marmottan Monet (@museemarmottan) in Paris.

The exhibition is the first major display of Monet’s works in The Netherlands in over 30 years. It is called “Monet, The Garden Paintings” and is centered around the dozens of paintings Monet created in preparation for his magnum opus: the Grandes Décorations in the Orangerie building in Paris. In the proces he created hundreds of works. The finished (or was it?) work was finally installed in the current Musée de l’Orangerie (@museeorangerie) only after his death.

Monet, The Garden Paintings is on show until 02-02-20. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if it was being extended, seeing how crowded it was last Sunday.
