A @museumvoorlinden museum guard is watching over the artwork “2000 Year Collaboration (The Prophet)” by English artist Ryan Gander (@ryanjgander). Can you spot the actual artwork in the photo?
When you get close to the artwork, the mouse will animate and deliver a 9-minute monologue. The text (which was recorded by Gander’s 9-year-old daughter) is loosely based on Charlie Chaplin’s speech in The Great Dictator. It warns the public for an obsessive need for progress and our distorted relationship with modern technology and it emphasizes the importance of story-telling.
