Some things aren’t meant to last.
This work by Dutch artist Thomas Trum (@thomastrum) was on view until today and will be removed to make room for another work.
Trum used a wooden ramp, built in this declining passageway in the Kunsthal Rotterdam (@kunsthal) and a modified road marking machine, spraying sideways, to create this site specific work. Check @thomastrum and @kunsthal to see images of the process.
In other works Trum used power drills, giant markers, wide paint rollers, modified paint sprayers to create astonishing works in which geometrical shapes form lines on the canvas.
The work was created as part of the Kunsthal Light Program, in which several emerging talents are given the opportunity to showcase their work in this window that is probably best viewed from outside the museum. Which is a plus, given the ongoing lockdown in The Netherlands.
